OVAL NF500 Series Communication Driver

 

OVAL NF500 Series Communication Driver is the driver to communicate with Gas & Steam Flow Computer of OVAL in Japan.

 

1. Read settings

 

<Figure 1> is read setting example of  OVAL NF500 Series communication driver.

Device part of  <Figure 1> input Com Port(COM1), Baud Rate(9600), Parity Bit(0), Data Bit(8), Stop Bit(1) respectively, according to setting of controller.

Also input of 'wait time after ID selection'( 0 ~ 2000 m Sec, default = 50 ) by using option part.

 

OVAL NF500 Series communication driver¡¯s read schedule 

Read schedule setting parameters are as follows:

1) Station – Controller station number = 0 ~ 99.

2) Read Command – Command = V?, R?, T?, P?, F?, O?, D?, B?, MF, SP ¡¦ ( Refer to <Table 1> )

3) Read Start Address Don't care.

4) Save start address for Communication Server – Saving start address of Communication Server.

5) Read Size – fixed to 1.

OVAL NF500 Series communication driver store the same data in WORD, DWORD, FLOAT memory, but the data format are different.

If you click the icon  in protocol option part, you can see the dialogue box such as <Figure 2>. you can also set read schedule by using this part.

   You can set read schedule by using , , button and listbox of <Figure 2>. 

Wait time after ID selection( 0 ~ 2000 m Sec, default = 50 ) can set by using the part of ¡®Wait Time After ID Selection¡¯ shown in <Figure 2>

When you click Add button or Edit button in dialogue box of <Figure 2>, dialogue box of <Figure 3> is shown.

  

2. Writing settings

You can write the setting value by using write settings.

 

Bit Write

Bit write setting parameters are as follows:

1)  PORT                   Port no. (0 ~ 255)

2)  STATION             Controller station number = 0 ~ 99.

3)  ADDRESS           Readed data's saving start address of read command.( decimal )

4)  Extra1                   Read, write command.

Read : V?, R?, T?, P?, F?, O?, D?, B?, ¡¦. ( Refer to <Table 1> )

Write : VR( reset of sum ), MF, SP, ¡¦.

5)  Extra2                   Don't care.

 

Write example 1) 

PORT : 0 , STATION : 0,  ADDRESS : 0050,  EXTRA1 : V?,  EXTRA2 :

The setting parameter shown above is an example of 'Total' data (V? command) read of 0 OVAL NF500 Series and save readed data to 50 ~ WORD, FLOAT, DWORD memory.

 

Write example 2) 

PORT : 0 , STATION : 0,  ADDRESS : 0100,  EXTRA1 : R?,  EXTRA2 :

The setting parameter shown above is an example of 'Flowrates' data (R? command) read of 0 OVAL NF500 Series and save readed data to 100 ~ WORD, FLOAT, DWORD memory.

 

Word Write

Word write and bit write have the same setting parameters except output value.

 

  

3. Connection of main power line and communication cable

Connection of main power line and communication cable are as follows.

 

 Connection of main power line

Please connect 220 V AC main power to main power input(Mains) connector such as <Figure 4>.

Connection of RS-232C communication cable

You have to connect normal 9 pin socket RS-232C communication cable between OVAL NF500 Series and computer such as <Figure 4>. 

 

Connection of RS-422 communication cable

Please connect R+, R-, T+, T- connectot of OVAL NF500 Series and Tx+, Tx-, Rx+, Rx- connector of computer such as <Figure 6>.
